The goodness flourishing in Byron's earth

Located in the south of Australia's Green Cauldron, the Byron hinterland is part of a rich expanse of lush farmland that stretches north to the Gold Coast and inland to Kyogle. Formerly the site of the Tweed shield volcano, this land is now home to the farmers and food producers that have helped make Byron Bay and its hinterland a premier destination for foodies.

In these fields, abundant fruits and vegetables grow year-round, with crops rotating their abundance to reflect the change of seasons. Most farms around the area are small-scale with many promoting sustainable methods and growing organic produce.

You'll find avocados from Upper Burringbar, coffee grown in Bangalow and blueberries from Brooklet. From elsewhere come pasture-raised chicken and organic lamb alongside Sydney Rock Oysters, grown in the Brunswick River.
